Job Description:
The Communications Manager for the College of Business is charged with the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications and marketing program on behalf of the college.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Marketing, they will work closely with their director and with academic leadership to design communication strategies that align with university and departmental goals. They may be involved in the development of press releases/news stories, brand and recruitment materials, media plans, web updates and strategy, and social media management and implementation with support from a team of tactical experts in each of those areas within University Communications and Marketing. They will also support the planning, publicizing, and execution of selected high-profile event communications that support the overall marketing strategy.
Although this position is based on the Athens Campus, flexibility is offered for commuting and remote work through the University's Flexplace policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or similar. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also satisfy the degree requirement.
- At least 5 years of experience working in public relations, marketing and/or strategic communications, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated experience developing and writing integrated communications and marketing plans.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experience editing websites in a CMS.
- Experience developing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Snapchat, as well as an understanding of appropriate tactics for various social media audiences.
- Experience managing creative projects, including print and video, to support marketing campaigns.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- Experience in crisis communications.
- Advanced web content editing skills.
