The Direct Response Marketing Officer primary responsibilities:
Serve as first point of contact for sustaining donors, offering stewardship and assistance with their monthly gift
Manages sustainer direct response efforts like telemarketing and canvassing, serving as the point person for vendors.
Collaborates with special event teams to develop sustainer conversion strategies for event participants
Stays up-to-date on sustainer program trends, and recommends new channels and initiatives to grow the program
Monitors and analyzes sustainer performance across all channels, and makes strategy and creative recommendations for the enhancement of the program.
Provides quality control of monthly donor campaign materials; help develop, review and edit letters, cards, brochures, emails, ads and other communications as requested.
Serves as back-up for all relevant functions of the direct response team, including reviewing mail strategy, copy and artwork.
Collaborates with BCH communications and digital teams to implement strategies.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years progressive experience in fundraising, direct response marketing, or nonprofit management, or equivalent experience is required.
Experience with monthly donor/sustainer program management and/or marketing is preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, marketing and writing skills.
Strong strategy development and execution abilities to collaborate with peers and external vendors to run an effective and net efficient marketing program.
Consistent attention to detail, high level of productivity, solution-oriented performer who can be responsive to both staff and donor issues.
Strong technical skills in generic software programs (Microsoft Excel, Office & PowerPoint), understanding of gift processes, with the ability to develop proficiency in specific database management systems. Blackbaud CRM or similar database knowledge preferred.
