The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications position is responsible for branding and recruitment marketing efforts under and will report to the Director of Branding and Recruitment Marketing. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications is tasked with planning and implementing the long-term marketing and communication strategies for Rutgers-Camden branding and recruitment marketing initiatives to increase brand identity, recruitment, and enrollment efforts for RU-C student population. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will have a solid understanding of multi-channel marketing strategies and have an astute acumen in designing, coding, and running large email marketing campaigns. Expert knowledge of automation flow processes using various digital marketing tools to support local and global launch enrollment and retention and enrollment strategies is essential.
The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will track, analyze, and report results of email and yield campaigns, dynamic email content, email automation programs, lead life-cycle management, and other email-related communication programs. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will continuously optimize performance marketing initiatives and offer recommendations for messaging solutions grounded in research and best practices to external and internal audiences in various media, web, print, mail, social, event, and more. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will also serve as the project manager and oversee the external digital/marketing contractors. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will collaborate with representatives for undergraduate, graduate, and international programs and will be a member of the integrated marketing and communications team in the newly created branding and recruitment marketing unit.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital media and or digital advertising
5+ years' experience running large email marketing and communications campaigns for undergraduate, graduate, and international student prospects
Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of marketing strategies
Experience working with a marketing automation tool and customer relationship management system (CRM)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
Strong leader with the ability to spearhead new ides to drive revenue
Flexible, creative thinker open to new ideas and changing priorities within a face-paced organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think and act both analytically and strategically
Knowledge of higher education is helpful, though not required
Knowledge in the field of marketing using traditional tactics coupled with digital and social strategies
Master's degree in Digital Media, Digital Marketing, Marketing, Digital Advertising, or a relevant discipline
Agency or industry experience appreciated
Experience with an analytics-based approach to implementing, testing, and adjusting marketing campaigns would be an asset
