We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator, who will coordinate, execute, monitor, and measure the association’s marketing and communications efforts under the direction of the CEO. The individual should be an excellent writer and have experience in social media and graphic design. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is energetic, organized, creative, and self-motivated to join our busy marketing and communications department.
JOB OBJECTIVES
Manage day-to-day marketing, promotional and communications efforts, internal and external
Perform all marketing, promotional and communications tasks as assigned
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain all content generation for all public outreach, education, news, and
Create and send all direct mailings to
Manage branding
Develop and distribute public news and communications
Approve press releases and internal / external communications.
Design and edit graphics for print or web as needed.
Work with staff and web vendors to continuously improve the usability, design, and content of the association’s website.
Create and distribute project updates on BARC’s fiber-to-the-home
Manage BARC’s communication channels, including BARC’s website, Facebook page, Cooperative Living Magazine, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube channel.
Monitors and reports on social media outreach, including weekly and monthly reporting.
Liaison to the VMD Association of Electric Cooperatives for the communicators working
Conduct customer focus
Manage BARC’s customer satisfaction survey
Manage BARC’s grant inquires, development, relationships, and process.
Public Relations contact and respond to press inquiries and questions.
Monitor and measure consumer engagement with outreach efforts and communications
Plan, arrange and coordinate press conferences and other public
Facilitate the resolution of disputes and conflicts with external stakeholders and
Work with internal staff to brainstorm content ideas, in line with BARC’s strategic initiatives and branding efforts.
Help develop marketing campaigns for various programs and events, as well as membership.
Evaluate the results of public outreach and marketing
Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key external role
Help develop marketing collateral for association programs and membership that aligns with association brand standards (i.e., promotional flyers, programs, etc.).
Provide updates on outages and restoration
Copyedit, proofread and revise
Other marketing or communications needs as requested by the CEO or

QUALIFICATIONS
It is expected that this position requires a four-year college degree in communications, marketing, or journalism preferred.
At least 2 years’ experience in marketing or communications.
Highly driven and results oriented.
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent customer service required.
Excellent writing skills with an emphasis on writing for the web and social media.
Graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite required.
