Job purpose: Drawing upon the vision set forth by the Executive Director, and under minimal supervision from the Director of Global Admission and Financial Aid:
Direct the development and implementation of marketing activities that meet organizational objectives for Knight-Hennessy Scholars.
Select, develop, and evaluate a team of marketing colleagues, working together to drive cross-functional marketing collaborations across Knight-Hennessy Scholars, and manage outside vendors to ensure effective marketing operations.
Your primary responsibilities and core duties:
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and marketing plans/programs to meet organizational objectives and generate awareness and interest among multiple internal and external stakeholders for Knight-Hennessy Scholars.
Manage the execution of communication and brand strategy for Knight-Hennessy Scholars incorporating multiple content types across a range of appropriate channels (e.g. website content, digital mailings, print publications, advertisements/public relations, etc.)
Develop and executive a strategic content calendar which prominently features on a regular cadence the perspectives of a wide range of scholars, alumni, visiting speakers, team members, and other voices within the Knight-Hennessy Scholars community; oversee both the creation and the distribution of content across multiple platforms and multiple audiences.
Develop a clear and cogent applicant lifecycle journey from first contact to enrollment, establish a staged communication plan that guides applicants through the lifecycle, and identify and correct lifecycle point where applicants most frequently exit the conversion pipeline
Work within Technolutions Slate CRM software and partner closely with Associate Director, Systems and Technology, to create dynamic automated communication campaigns and leverage existing user data to deliver personalized content as mass scale
Oversee market research and analysis, inducing regular quantitative analysis of engagement across website pages, digital mailings, social media, and survey responses. Use the results to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction and communication segmentation.
Assess market opportunities and track market trends in selective scholarship programs and graduate-level higher education. Implement marketing improvements based on findings.
Foster partnerships with other marketing channel managers, especially those at Stanford's Office of University Communications and marketing directors at Stanford's departments and schools.
Responsibility for staff including the recruitment, management, development, and retention of a team of marketing colleagues.
Set budget, goals, and objectives in alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee event management as needed to support marketing objectives.
Manage relationships with vendors including graphic designers, photographers, video producers, public relations agencies, media outlets, and digital media companies.

Minimum requirements (education and experience):
Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Strategic thinking and leadership skills.
Proven track record with branding, integrated marketing strategy, messaging and positioning.
Proficiency with multiple media formats, including print publications, web and text messaging, blogging tools, social media content and account management, video and podcast production, etc.
Proficiency with customized content campaigns based on large data sets housed within enterprise CRM software.
Experience with quantitative data analysis, including the ability to analytically manipulate large datasets and extract actionable insights
Excellent project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated experience presenting to senior management.
Ability to motivate, develop and train staff.
Prior experience in planning and managing budgets.
Physical requirements*:
