DAPER is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Athletics Director, Marketing and Fan Experience. Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director, Marketing and Communications, this position is responsible for developing integrated marketing and fan engagement strategies and overseeing a dynamic team whose ultimate charge is to generate revenue, drive attendance, and build brand affinity for Stanford Athletics programs. This role provides a unique opportunity to drive organizational objectives by executing integrated multi-channel marketing strategies, as well as creating compelling in-venue experiences for our student-athletes and fans alike. This is a full-time, exempt position. Position title will be determined based on experience.
Your responsibilities include:
Overseeing and developing marketing and fan experience strategy and initiatives
Partnering with other External Relations colleagues to define and execute the brand strategy for DAPER across all channels (web, digital, print)
Responsible for marketing and fan experience department operations including the recruitment, management, development, oversight, and retention of staff
Setting departmental budget, goals, and objectives in alignment with organizational goals
Developing and executing marketing plans for Stanford Athletics to drive ticket sales and attendance.
Supervising all direct marketing, digital marketing, advertising, collateral, and marketing communications
Leading cross-functional collaboration to drive revenue, ticket sales, attendance, and fan engagement
Other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated marketing management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with decision-makers across many levels
Extensive knowledge of strategic analysis, customer segmentation strategies and business and marketing planning
Strategic thinking and leadership skills, as well as advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to motivate, develop, and train staff, including willingness to roll up your sleeves and lead by example
Excellent oral and written communication skills and presence at all levels and for all audiences
Ability to troubleshoot, think creatively, and resolve conflicts
Prior experience in planning and managing budgets
Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends
