IU Studios, Indiana University's central communications and marketing organization, seeks a Junior candidate to fill an hourly position for an IUPUI Studio Communication & Marketing Internship. This internship is housed within the IUPUI Brand Studio which serves as the strategic partner to schools, departments, and units in transforming how we market IU.
Students affiliated with Kelley School of Business, School of Informatics and Computing, School of Liberal Arts, and Herron School of Art and Design are encouraged to apply.
The IU Office of the Vice President for Communications and Marketing seeks a Photography Intern to fill a position based in Indianapolis that may require some travel to events. This internship will cover events, news and commercial assignments for internal and external partners. We stress visual storytelling. While the emphasis of the internship is photography, there may be instances of video and audio capture tasks.
The intern will identify two areas within the brand studios for heavier concentration. Options will include marketing insights & analytics, content creation, design creation, CRM and constituent journeys, social media, website analytics, project management. This is to tie into the already approved On-Campus internship and for professional development and soft skills.
Department Specific Responsibilities:
Covers events, news and commercial assignments for internal and external partners. Assignments will be studio-style and location (environmental) portraits with available light and studio lights.
Attends events, usually a two-hour-plus commitment, gathering candid photos as well as images of keynote speakers and activities.
Processes and edits photos for review by supervisor and send electronically to clients and partners.

Innovation - The intern will gain valuable applied-learning opportunities. In addition, help IUPUI Brand Studios capture events, student experience and have the opportunity to develop media and marketing skills in an efficient and collaborative manner.
Organizational skills - This position will learn the use of industry standard tools for time and task management and skills to complete projects independently as well as collaboratively. Intern will develop strong written and verbal communication skills.
Problem Solver -Interns in this position will learn how to work collaboratively with other students and staff in our office. They will also learn how to visualize their work from the mindset of students and staff across campus.
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
Currently enrolled at IUPUI as a j unior
Pursuit of degree in media, telecommunications, journalism, communications/culture, photography, liberal arts, multimedia, and/or experience in a production studio, agency, or newsroom environment
Proficiency with DSLR cameras, lenses, flash equipment and studio lights
Proficiency with Lightroom, Photoshop and Photo Mechanic.
Strong communication skills
Should be able to work independently with minimum guidance
Dependable team player
Ability to complete multiple projects

Pay based on experience.
This position is planned for 10-15 hours a week but can work up to 29 hours per week seasonally, based on partner needs with some evenings and weekend work required.
