Dabney S. Lancaster Community College (DSLCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. On-site and distance learning options incorporate up-to-date technologies.The Marketing Specialist will work with the Collegeâ™s marketing & communications firm to execute effective marketing strategies, overseeing communication among internal and external partners for accuracy, quality, and adherence to established standards, and managing the collegeâ™s marketing plan. The successful candidate will work with all areas of the college on creating effective strategies that will promote the long-term enrollment growth and retention of the college.Â Specification responsibilities include:Â Provide communications support for the President.Coordinate activities related to the marketing & communication firm.Ensure creative marketing materials undergo regular review and adhere to brand guidelines.Recommend strategies with areas of the college to promote the long-term enrollment growth and retention of the college.Assist with executing social media strategies through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identificationGenerate, edit, publish and share daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take actionIdentify the appropriate media channels where college marketing materials can be delivered to the public.Assist with special events.Maintains appropriate appearance and demeanor.Performs all duties with exemplary customer service to internal and external partners.Handles all office matters and documents with the highest level of confidentiality.Takes action guided by policy, established procedures, and/or personal initiative and professional judgment. Â Work with appropriate areas for web updates.Graphic design and photography experience a plus.Performs other duties as assigned.Â
Proven experience as marketing specialist or similar role.Experience with all traditional and emerging marketing channels.Solid computer skills, including MS Office, knowledge of HTML and web development tools desired.Well-organized and detail oriented.Effective communication and writing skills.
