Description of Department: The Office of Communications and Marketing supports the mission and goals of SUNY Oswego by building awareness (of people, place, and programs/facilities) among targeted audiences, and telling the story of SUNY Oswego through our students, faculty, staff and alumni to internal and external audiences. The office performs this communications and marketing work in its effort to enhance Oswego's reputation through its three core functions: Digital Services and Marketing; News/Media; and Design & Print Services. A staff of professionals serves colleagues all across campus in an integrated approach to deliver targeted marketing strategies and communication tactics, generate positive publicity in traditional and new media, develop website, digital and e-communication products, and/or produce engaging print communication. SUNY Oswego's Office of Communications and Marketing has been recognized for its work, receiving awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, Educational Digital Marketing, APEX, SUNY Council for University Advancement and other professional associations.

Description of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Services and Marketing, the Marketing Manager will work closely with the entire Communications and Marketing team, the Extended Learning Division, the SUNY Oswego Syracuse campus, and campus stakeholders to ensure that marketing projects and collateral are consistent with SUNY Oswego branding and aligned with campus-wide integrated marketing, institutional recruitment initiatives and projects that enhance the visibility of SUNY Oswego.
The Marketing Manager will:
Develop, manage and execute goal-oriented omni-channel marketing campaigns.
Write interesting and engaging content for a variety of audiences, with a focus on digital and web communications.
Prepare and manage budgets for marketing campaigns and programs.
Develop shareable reports to measure ROI of marketing efforts and expenditures and make recommendations for future marketing efforts.
Manage relationships with marketing team members and campus stakeholders, including leading and/or attending regular marketing meetings and providing reports.
Facilitate outcome oriented communication between the marketing team and campus stakeholders through frequent, consistent and effective interaction.
Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to develop and support digital marketing campaigns.
Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to provide SEO and strategic marketing recommendations based on analytics/data and keyword rankings and research.
Develop and maintain web and social media content.
Manage the creation and maintenance of print materials as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or marketing-related field; or a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in marketing-related field
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and balance competing priorities
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Flexible and able to work with shifting priorities
Ability to work independently, while also contributing as a team player; willing to experiment with new ideas, concepts, tools and approaches to marketing and business development using data and research driven goals
Experience with content creation, management and production tools

Experience in higher education marketing
Experience in the Google products suite (Ads, Analytics, DataStudio, Search Console GoogleMyBusiness), Mailchimp, Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, or other PPC platforms
Experience creating a social media strategy, implementing social media campaigns and measuring success/impact.
Experience in and a commitment to infusing diversity and inclusion into telling the Oswego story through various platforms, including social media, web and emerging media.
