General Summary In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, the position serves as Senior Associate Athletics Director, Brand & Content for the department of Intercollegiate Athletics within the guidelines of the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University. The position is responsible for oversight and growth of DePaul Athletics’ brand locally and nationally as well as the development and execution of marketing plans and gameday presentations for all 15 DePaul Athletics sports, with an added emphasis on Men's and Women's Basketball.
Responsibilities & Duties Responsible for direct oversight of the Athletics Marketing Department including the development and execution of marketing plans, branding initiatives, advertising, gameday presentations, and ticket promotions for all 15 DePaul Athletics sports, with an added emphasis on Men's and Women's Basketball. Supervise all creative and graphic design operations to ensure timely and quality work. Supervise in-game corporate sponsors' activations. Manage all Marketing Department contracts, including negotiation, implementation, fulfillment, and renewal. Responsible for direct oversight of the Athletics Communications Department including the development and execution of communication and media plans, social media strategy, video, and digital streaming operations, statistical reporting, and website management for all 15 DePaul Athletics sports, with an added emphasis on Men's and Women's Basketball. Supervise all photography operations to ensure adequate coverage at athletic events and special events. Manage all Communication Department contracts, including negotiation, implementation, fulfillment, and renewal. Responsible for the conceptualization, organization, and implementation of strategic campus and student initiatives that strengthen community and enhance campus life at DePaul University, in partnership with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and student groups including Student Government Association, Blue Crew, etc. Responsible for collaborating with DePaul Athletics’ External Affairs leadership to strategically plan and execute strategies that engage season ticket holders, faculty, staff, alumni, students, and fans to increase brand affinity and market growth for DePaul Athletics. Serve on the Senior Staff of the Athletic Department which involves strategic planning for the department, representing the department at athletics events, fundraising, game management duties, and administrative functions as directed by the Vice President/Director of Athletics. Responsible for tracking consumer and market insights by reviewing metrics and conducting consumer research among the various fan groups that attend collegiate athletic events to provide innovative fan experiences that exceed consumer expectations. Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies, and procedures. Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules compliance education meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree, 10 years relevant experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I level. Possess a working knowledge of NCAA and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics. Preferred Requirements Master's or other advanced degree Managerial Responsibilities Directly supervises Associate AD for Marketing Operations & Student Engagement, Associate AD for Communications and Digital Strategy, Assistant AD for Creative Services, Asst AD for Community Outreach and Fan Experience, and Graduate Assistant(s). Financial Responsibilities Responsible for the Athletics Marketing, Athletics Communications, and Blue Crew budgets (approx. $1.2M annually) Other Skills & Abilities Required Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in marketing, communications, and content creation as they apply to intercollegiate athletics. Ability to listen, think creatively, budget management skills and proficiency, and analytical skills. Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.
