Army West Point Athletics seeks qualified candidates for an Associate Director of Marketing role. The Associate Director will be responsible for creating marketing and promotions plans, game presentations, day-to-day activities of the office, and revenue generation through digital/email marketing. Successful candidates must be team-oriented, highly motivated, a self-starter and organized. The position will work with other units in the athletic department (ticket sales, creative services, event management and operations, facilities, etc.) to ensure all logistics for events are properly managed.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
50% Marketing & Promotions:
-Develop and implement marketing, promotions and game presentation plans with the goal of increasing ticket sales, game attendance, and improving the fan experience for Hockey, Women’s Basketball and Women’s Lacrosse.
-Develop, write and implement marketing plans and strategies.
-Developing public address scripts and video board rundowns collaborating with the sales staff on group experiences and promotions.
-Design marketing materials, including social media graphics, flyers, video board graphics, etc.
-Oversee the pregame fan fest area, Black Knight Alley, along with assisting in on-field presentations.
20% Strategic Outreach:
-Collaborate with various departments and organizations, including Cadet Spirit groups, to increase the reach and awareness of Army West Point Athletics throughout the West Point installation and surrounding Hudson Valley communities.
10% Digital Marketing:
-Collaborate with appropriate parties on digital/email marketing and CRM sales.
-Execute digital marketing campaigns for assigned sports/initiatives.
-Coordinate and manage the marketing inventory.
-Adhere to all department-wide management controls and participate in training as required.
-Assist in budget planning and administration.
10% All Other Duties as Assigned
1-3 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, specifically marketing and fan engagement.
Strong work ethic and a team first approach.
Must be a self starter and be intrinsically motivated.
Able to build and maintain working relationships.
Must possess organizational, analytical, critical thinking, oral, and written communication skills.
Stay abreast of evolving trends and best practices pertaining to marketing and fan engagement in college athletics.
