Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Sales

Southeast Missouri State University department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Sales. This position will report to the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. This position will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and implementing marketing and promotional plans for the department of Athletics to increase awareness, attendance and revenue.
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing, advertising, and sales strategy for all sports focused on meeting revenue growth and attendance goals
Coordinate and manage the game day presentation and fan experience for all sports, including but not limited to game scripts, videoboard content, in-game promotions, on-field/court recognitions, halftime shows, sponsor activations, fan contests, and other entertainment elements
Manage and execute plans to increase engagement with constituent groups, including but not limited to student section, kids club, faculty and staff, and student-athlete alumni
Plan and assist with community outreach including efforts in corporate sponsorship sales and fulfill corporate contracts
Recruit, train, and supervise Graduate Assistant for Marketing & Promotions and student interns
Minimum of three (3) years’ professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management or a related professional field; with at least two of those years working in collegiate or professional sports
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and public relations skills
Ability to work on multiple projects at same time and meet deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with administrators, coaches, students, community and media
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Knowledge of NCAA regulations related to marketing/promotion of intercollegiate athletics
Ability to travel extensively with or without accommodations and work alternate work schedules including evenings and weekends
Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
