Under the direction of the Director, Strategic Marketing, the Marketing Fellow will contribute to a variety of marketing projects in the Office of College Marketing and Communications. In collaboration with others in the office, the Fellow will create marketing content that brings to life the College's brand messaging for high school students across the digital landscape, including for the College website and email campaigns. A successful person in this role will have a deep skillset in writing and written communications, and an ability to craft content for specific audiences on multiple platforms in the appropriate tone and length. This role will also be a key contributor in identifying and suggesting new digital marketing initiatives and approaches, by staying up to date on current digital marketing and advertising trends, as well as the changing landscape of digital marketing in higher education.
This position will work closely with the Strategic Marketing Manager in the development and reporting of digital marketing initiatives and with the Assistant Director, Web Content on the development of content for digital marketing vehicles, including the College website.
This is a full-time, 2-year term Fellowship position.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Create content that brings to life the brand messaging strategy of the College, and helps the College reach high school students with those messages creatively and effectively
Serve as production specialist for digital marketing campaigns and other marketing initiatives
Collaborate with a cross-functional marketing team (including content, design and strategic marketing) to build and execute digital initiatives and campaigns
Audit marketing efforts by peer schools, to understand the greater higher education marketing landscape
Identify and propose new ideas in support of the College's marketing and communications goals
With the Director, Strategic Marketing, plan, develop, and update printed materials for admission and financial aid
With colleagues in the Office of College Marketing and Communications, develop and implement digital advertising materials for prospective students
Create content and execute email marketing campaigns in support of marketing and communications plans
Create and implement email marketing templates and other specialized email campaigns
With the Strategic Marketing Manager, review analytics with an eye toward future applications
Partner with colleagues in the Office of College Marketing and Communications to develop and implement content across the website
Write clear and compelling website copy
Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, timeliness, brevity and clarity
Create content that adheres to the College's brand messaging and writing and web standards

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or equivalent demonstrated equivalent education and experience
Superior writing skills with a knack for creating clear and engaging content
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
Ability to thrive in an environment that involves creativity, strategic thinking, working with professionals from a broad variety of areas with varying levels of expertise.
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs including Microsoft Word and Google Suite tools, or equivalent
Familiarity working with Adobe Photoshop or equivalent photo editing software to save files for web publication
Familiarity with AP or other writing style guides
Preference will be given to College of the Holy Cross graduates
Experience working with an enterprise-level web content management system such as Drupal, WordPress, or equivalent.
Experience making edits in HTML
This is a full-time, temporary, 24-month position.
