The University Of Oregon Department Of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an aggressive, creative and self-motivated individual for the position of Marketing Assistant. This is an 11-month position that runs from August 2021 – June 2022 averaging 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities: •Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of marketing, promotional and ticket sales efforts for all 19 University of Oregon intercollegiate sports including football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball. •Oversee and direct game presentation efforts including development and execution of game presentation scripts, video board operations, in-game promotions and fan giveaways for assigned sports; Women’s Soccer, Acrobatics & Tumbling and Women’s Lacrosse •Design promotional graphics for use in email marketing, print, digital and social media platforms •Cultivate relationships with campus and community organizations to increase local support of all UO athletic programs. •Design strategy to leverage non-traditional communication channels, including social media, email, and digital advertising as well as traditional and grassroots efforts •Manage and facilitate the Junior Duck Kids Club and external donation requests •Identify unique opportunities to integrate and showcase sponsor activations in partnership with Oregon Sports Properties •Organize special events such as; Fan Day, National Anthem Auditions, and the Duck Birthday Party •Oversee and develop student interns and game day staff members •Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field is required
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are preferred
Team-oriented and willing to work irregular hours
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines
Strong working knowledge of InDesign and PhotoShop
