Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana seeks an energetic, creative thinker to lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge marketing, brand, and digital engagement strategies to ensure that we tell our Girl Scout story in new ways to deepen relationships and engage new audiences.

The Director of Marketing and Brand oversees the council’s marketing strategy as part of the external affairs department and directly supervises a dynamic five-person marketing team. She/he/they will lead our efforts to reach new and existing audiences; innovate ways to deepen their engagement as members, donors, volunteers, and community members; and use data to measure and analyze results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and supervise the execution of a council-wide marketing strategy to complement organizational goals and objectives,
Work in partnership with other department leads to build digital marketing plans that assist in the recruitment, retention, and renewal of girl and adult members,
Maintain primary responsibility for guiding and approving the use of all intellectual properties related to the national Girl Scout Brand, including all graphic, verbal and brand voice representations,
Oversee the implementation of cost-effective, innovative techniques to create personalized experiences for various stakeholders through content marketing, storytelling, engagement platforms, campaigns, and social media,
Seek new ways to elevate Girl Scouting’s relevance, expand our reach; and increase our council’s brand presence,
Assist with the ideation and coordination of strategic media placements and public speaking opportunities to elevate the brand and raise awareness of Girl Scouting,
Work with internal partners to develop effective marketing, communications, and content marketing strategies across all platforms,
Supervise the individual members of the marketing team to ensure the development and execution of branded content for publications, event marketing, website, and social media platforms,
Manage department work plans, budget, and goal measurement reporting,
Support the policies and procedures of GSGCNWI,
Model behavior consistent with the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
Strategic thinker who thrives on creating solutions and efficiencies, championing peers and direct reports, and innovating new ways of work to attain organizational goals and objectives,
Experience with associations or membership organizations preferred,
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in integrated marketing and brand management including budget, strategic and tactical planning, and project management across multiple platforms,
Demonstrated excellence as a communicator and collaborator,
Proficiency in the use of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other website management software; Adobe Creative Suite; Salesforce or other customer relationship management systems; email marketing systems; Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Asana or other project management software; Google Analytics or other tracking and analysis tools; and social media networking tools,
Experience managing creative teams and vendor contracts,
Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent relevant experience; master’s degree a plus.
