The Assistant Director of Annual Fund Marketing for Owen will plan and execute annual appeals to increase participation in annual giving, ensuring that plans are accomplished on time and on budget. The Assistant Director will be the primary point of contact for volunteers such as class agents, reunion volunteers, and class gift committee members to increase philanthropic support for Owen through peer-to-peer outreach. They will be responsible for analyzing donor and giving data to discover patterns, trends, and actionable insights that improve and enhance segmentation strategies and annual giving efforts, and drive donor engagement and retention.
The Department of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) assists Vanderbilt University in securing the resources, both human and financial, that are required to achieve its mission and goals. The Department is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals and organizations whose charitable objectives are consistent with those of Vanderbilt University's teaching and research programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Performance Indicators: Alumni participation in annual giving, unrestricted giving dollars, donor engagement, donor retention, and volunteer engagement.
Annual Giving Project Management (50%)
Plan and execute annual giving solicitations for Owen including direct mail, email, print, web and social. Refine strategies based on donor feedback, campaign performance, and A/B testing.
Manage data preparation, donor lists, vendors, editing, and all phases of solicitation projects.
Lead planning and execution of Giving Day for Owen, an event to help advance Vanderbilt's mission of education, discovery, and leadership.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes & systems on the team.
Volunteer Management & Reunion (25%)
Assist in planning and executing Reunion communications including data preparation, uploading lists and emails, and editing for direct mail, email, print, web, and social media communications.
Assist in flawlessly executing engaging Reunion events annually in October.
Recruit and manage Owen Volunteer Community fundraising volunteers including class agents, reunion volunteers and class gift committee members.
Develop special stewardship outreach to ensure that volunteers are properly stewarded for their time, treasure, and talent.
Develop and execute detailed program timelines to ensure volunteers are effectively engaged and mobilized in their outreach efforts.
Insights Analysis (25%)
Evaluate data to improve and enhance annual giving efforts and segmentation strategies.
Create, maintain, and enhance dashboard reports that track progress and success of solicitations, volunteer programs, and other annual giving efforts.
Assist with ad hoc data analysis, reports, and requests.
Work with the Director of Data Analytics to identify opportunities
Collaborate & Engage - Partner across Owen, Vanderbilt, Development and Alumni Relations, and professional school counterparts.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Some travel could be required. Some evening and weekend events as needed.
A bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience required
Professional experience in business analytics, data analytics, marketing analysis, consumer insights, consumer market knowledge, business insights, or project management.

Experience with planning and implementation of events, programs, and/or projects.
