Internal Job Number: P04183UF Description: The Student Health Services is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director. The Student Health Services (SHS) mission is to provide leadership for the health of the university community. Reporting to the SHS Information Services Manager (SHSIS Manager), the Marketing and Communications Specialist (MCS) provides expertise for all Student Health Services strategic communications and partners with the SHS Digital Marketing Coordinator to ensure effective marketing for the unit. This position will support SHS leadership in developing, managing, and executing marketing and communication plans that are culturally and linguistically appropriate and support health equity efforts, specifically focusing on serving students of color, first-generation students, and students with high financial need. This includes the promotion of SHS clinical and non-clinical services, through various platforms such as to the SHS website, social media, print, video, and other digital communications and marketing applications. The MCS is also responsible for the supervision of student employees. As needed and at the discretion of the SHSIS Manager, the Director of Finance and Operations and/or the SHS Executive Director and Associate Vice Provost the MCS will assist with the marketing and communications needs of other wellness-related departments and programs such as Counseling & Psychological Services. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field. 3 years’ experience related to the discipline of the college, unit or department. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Type: This position is deemed essential and the incumbent may be expected to report to work during inclement weather, emergency and other University work curtailments or closures. The incumbent is expected to check in with their direct supervisor or unit leadership daily during University delays or closures to determine if they are required to report to work.
