Position –Director 

Department – Marketing

Reports to: Executive Director of Marketing

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist in the daily operations of the marketing department, with particular focus on project management, long-range communication flow execution, extension site marketing relationships and online learning vendor relations. 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Experience with marketing and communications software, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Basic understanding of marketing practices and in the field of higher education.
• Detail-oriented.
• Strong organizational skills and high level of efficiency.
• Project management and CRM software experience.
• Extensive experience in management. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field.
• Previous experience in a management position.
• Higher education marketing experience.
• Extensive understanding of innovative marketing, digital marketing, and marketing collateral. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate project management efforts in the department, including maintaining the project management system and checking timelines.
• Help to lead the creative and strategic direction of the department and work to develop new marketing pieces and systems to serve the university.
• Oversee the extension site marketing coordinators in relation to marketing needs and approvals.
• Assist in reviewing marketing materials and receiving the necessary approvals and contributions from relevant areas on campus.
• Direct departmental activities and represent the marketing office at meetings in place of executive director when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by the VP of Enrollment and Marketing.
