MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE Eastside Catholic School is a Catholic faith-based educational community where students in grades six through 12 learn to integrate their thinking and believing in ways that encourage intellectual excellence, nurture relationships, and inspire a life of leadership and service to others. Founded by parents in 1980, the school is governed by an elected board of trustees. It is the only seven-year, co-educational Catholic school on the Eastside, and offers a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum. POSITION The Marketing and Communications Associate reports directly to the Marketing and Communications Director. In this role you will work to create and produce a variety of digital assets. Our website and marketing is image-oriented, so an eye for strong visuals is critical. Additionally, the associate will be someone who is a creative storyteller both visually and through written word. In this role, you will assist with all aspects of school communications and marketing through a variety of mediums and provide key support to maintain the Eastside Catholic brand, ensuring integrity and consistency in all formats through which our brand is communicated. This position would be best suited for someone with a recent degree, experience in photography and graphic design and a desire to launch a marketing career. RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist with the creation of social media content. This includes daily posts, maintaining scheduling calendars, creating videos and paid media ads across several platforms • Assist with graphic design and creation of print and online collateral, for annual and one-off projects, both existing and new • Photography: continually take photos of events, student life and special accomplishments. Attend events on and off campus as needed. Photos are used for social media, print collateral, email marketing, to have on file for use by other groups and other communication as needed. Manage vendor photographer for special events or general student life as needed. Edit images for publishing. • Video production and basic video editing as needed • Assist with the design, editing and production of large internal documents such as the curriculum guides and school handbooks • Assist with maintaining the school website including link checking, document and photo management • This position will be trained to back up the Associate Director of Communications, which may include managing official organizational communications including: - Weekly email newsletter to families: collect information, edit, send, check for bounces and reconcile bounces - Emails as needed to all families or select groups - Emails to prospects/new contractual families regarding events and messaging from Admissions and Athletics - Send press releases out to local newspapers and constituents highlighting student, faculty or staff accomplishments SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Experience with social media – creating, writing and scheduling posts • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects • Consistently meet deadlines and communicate well in advance if deadlines cannot be met • Develop and maintain positive communication with EC staff and faculty • Demonstrate excellent work ethic and high level of integrity • Ability to work collaboratively; willingness to work on tasks outside of immediate job description • Remain focused on priorities without daily direction from supervisor • Self-motivated, self-starter, able to track and anticipate upcoming tasks and projects • A sense of humor and friendly demeanor REQUIRED SKILLS • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proficiency with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including document design and layout using InDesign, as well as working knowledge of Photoshop or other image editing software • Aptitude for graphic design • Photography and videography proficiency • Web savvy • Familiarity with Dropbox, Microsoft Teams and Google docs/sheets • Excellent organizational skills – this position requires a great attention to detail • Excellent editing skills • Knowledge of basic HTML and experience working with CMS preferred EDUCATION • Associate degree required, bachelor degree preferred • Experience in visual media marketing and story telling, communications or other related field preferred The statements contained herein describe the scope of the responsibility and essential functions of this position, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
