Temporary/Casual Marketing Associate School of Public Health Communications Team
As a member of the School of Public Health Communications Team, the Marketing Associate will support promotion, distribution, and design related to SPH communications, marketing, student recruitment, and event promotions. This temporary/casual position (14 hours a week or less) is available immediately.

Salary range: $20-$25/hour based on level of experience
Creates artwork for a range of projects that include brochures, event materials, marketing campaigns as well as artwork for digital materials and templates including web, email and social media.
Ensures graphic design meets University of Minnesota standards and aligns with School of Public Health visual brand identity.
Maintains an efficient electronic filing system for designs.
Writes and edits engaging content for internal communications and marketing efforts across channels (print, email, web, social media, events) that drives understanding/engagement and meets defined project objectives.
Listens and understands feedback from reviewers and incorporates edits, while maintaining the intent and objectives.
Email marketing and distribution: 20%
Designs and distributes email marketing campaigns for internal and external audiences.
Analyzes email marketing metrics to drive deeper engagement.
Project management: 20%
Coordinates project details for the production of SPH communications and design projects for on-time delivery and budget expectations.
Manages projects through SPH Communications staff and/or external vendors.
Observes Communications team norms for quality, accuracy, responsiveness, and overall customer service.
Responsible for appropriate administrative duties associated with project management such as printing, estimating, and billing.
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
BA/BS degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Art or related field or four years combined equivalent combination of education and experience, to include experience in print production, advertising, direct mail, and/or marketing.
Project management experience.
Understanding of marketing, communication, and brand strategy.
Demonstrated abilities in graphic design and page layout and collaborative problem solving skills.
Experience working in a team environment.
Experience providing excellent customer service.
Excellent proofing skills.
Knowledge of Adobe CS6 (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
Familiar with Google Analytics
Familiar with mass email marketing tools
Knowledge of Wordpress
Knowledge of coding HTML
Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects.
Ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
Good writing and communication skills.
