Responsible for all aspects of product / business development, sales and marketing of the Health Plan and Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company's (the Health Plan/GIIC/GQO) to include Commercial and Government Programs lines of business. Manage sales distribution channels including direct sales, broker sales, field marketing organizations as well as public and private exchanges. Participates in the development of the Health Plan annual and long-term strategic plan. Position is responsible for maintaining productive and efficient relationships with the Geisinger Clinical Enterprise and all departments within the Health Plan. Provides continuous support and information to facilitate and improve understanding, acceptance, and integration of the Federal/State products throughout the organization.
Responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy to lead the sales and marketing functions to achieve membership objectives. Directs, designs and supervises implementation of marketing communications programs for the Geisinger Health Plan. Major responsibilities would include direct interaction with operations that support efforts to put new products and programs into the market and to then attract members to those programs. Develops tracking system to monitor utilization based upon marketing activities. Serves as the leader of the product planning process for the Health Plan and GIIC and GQO's Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and other Government Programs lines of business. This includes: Market research and analysis, Product development and related filings, Rate development, Annual CMS bid filing, Product performance analysis Serves as the leader for the annual implementation of the Health Plan and GIIC and GQO's Commercial and Medicare insurance products. This includes: Filing bids (rates) and resolving issues arising during their review, training internal and external stake-holders on annual product and services area changes, Educating the sales and marketing department on product and strategy changes. Coordinating with PNM to develop provider education materials, Coordinating with PNM to develop new market contracting strategies. Directs system market research (quantitative and qualitative) to attain timely and actionable information and analysis including the supervision of research staff, outside consultants and coordination and development of internal quantitative and qualitative research. Develops and manages budget. Supervises and provides day-to-day management of the Sales, Marketing and Product Development staff. Builds an integrated team and motivates staff to ensure productivity is maximized and specified goals and quality standards are met. Work is typically performed in an office environment.
