Marketing Manager - Skin Care and Sun Care (North America) (2000697) - Florham Park, NJ
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you with a strong blend of strategic marketing and technical expertise to lead, execute and implement marketing initiatives for our Skin Care galenics and Sun Care portfolio and market segments in North America. This is a strategic growth portfolio with significant exposure. Our global R&D teams create innovative ingredients and concepts for products that deliver performance with compelling sustainability stories.
In this role, you will demonstrate your market acumen to focus specifically on developing and driving market insights, new product commercialization and product positioning, value communication and promotions, building innovation pipelines, and customer marketing activities to generate new business development. Managing and developing deep relationships with key stakeholders and cross functional team members will be critical to your success as you support and articulate BASF capabilities, work with sales to incorporate customer needs and requirements, and proactively respond to market developments. The focus areas of this role will be approximately 60-70% skin care and 30-40% sun care.
This role could require domestic travel up to 25% (international travel based on specific business needs).
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in Biology, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or Marketing, you will lead North America innovation and business development for BASF Care Chemicals' large portfolio of skin care galenics and UV filters ingredients.
Drawing on your entrepreneurial skill and business acumen, you will own the end-to-end innovation process for skin care and sun care ingredients in North America, from generating market insights, validating insights with sales and technical, to business case development, launch, and post-launch activities and tracking.
Utilizing your regional market knowledge, you will advocate for North America customer innovation needs as part of the global innovation community.
New Business Development
As the organization's expert on the regional skin and sun market, you will train the sales team and support customers on the application and use of the existing portfolio to drive new business development opportunities, in coordination with technical service.
Drawing on your understanding of market trends, you will collaborate with application technology to incorporate trends into relevant marketing and technical concepts, creating timely and relevant sales tools to support portfolio selling.
Your strong written communication and interpersonal skills will be an asset as you write and guide external communications, and represent BASF at customer visits, tradeshows, and other events.
Utilizing your market segment knowledge and experience, you will guide the organization, including business leadership, on the trends in the North America skin and sun care market, providing quarterly consumer trend updates, customer growth, market segment growth, and competitive dynamics, leading to insights that facilitate solution selling.
Demonstrating your cross-functional and global collaborative ability, you will work with key stakeholders from product management, sales, global product development, and your peers in marketing to develop, implement, and communicate a North America Personal Care Sun Care strategy that utilizes our assets, guides long-term R&D priorities, influences external collaborations, achieves sales targets, and positions BASF as the skin and sun care ingredient supplier of choice.
