DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS , MIT Professional Education (PE) , to lead and implement all marketing and marketing communications activities to support MIT PE and its programs globally. Will develop and implement a marketing plan and manage a marketing communications plan that addresses the promotional needs of individual programs and MIT PE as a whole. Activities include brand management, identifying and working with partners to develop print and web marketing campaigns for courses/programs, developing newsletters and news articles, arranging conference sponsorships and/or participation globally--all toward the core objective of promoting the MIT brand and its professional education programs in the U.S. and global markets; conducting market research and tracking and reporting results; local/national/global media relations; maintaining a presence on social media; and developing and updating content about MIT PE.
MIT PE offers a suite of education programs and products to serve the continuing educational needs of science and engineering professionals globally.
REQUIRED : B.A./B.S. (advanced degree preferred); five years' strongly-related marketing and marketing communications and/or journalistic experience in the education arena; familiarity with print, social media, and web marketing; strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, and team facilitation skills; team-orientation; attention to detail; and support for the goals of MIT and MIT PE. Must be able to support and consensus among diverse groups of people, using both indirect and direct influence; take ownership of projects without a high level of supervision; develop, execute upon, and realize strategic marketing plans; provide effective outreach to faculty, students, professionals, companies, and organizations globally.
