Business Unit Overview: Tactical Opportunities ("Tac Opps" or "Fund") is Blackstone's opportunistic investment platform. The Tac Opps group invests globally across asset classes, industries and geographies, seeking to identify and execute on attractive, differentiated investment opportunities. As part of the strategy, the team leverages the intellectual capital across Blackstone's various businesses while continuously optimizing its approach in the face of ever-changing market conditions.
Job Title: Associate, New York
Job Description: The marketing product specialist will support Tac Opps by leading its outward facing client relations efforts. Responsibilities include engaging with firm prospects and existing Limited Partners ("LPs"), articulating Fund strategy, answering deal related inquiries, participating in client meetings and leading calls with LPs. The marketing product specialist will drive the creation of Fund marketing materials and the broader messaging of the strategy.
Lead prospect diligence processes for Tac Opps in partnership with Blackstone Investor Relations Business Development ("IRBD")
Conduct recurring update calls for investors
Attend and participate in in-person meetings and calls with select LPs and prospective clients
Manage syndication of co-invest by identifying appropriate LP universe and engaging with relevant LPs through ultimate commitment
Lead coordination with counterparts across other businesses
Promote Tac Opps' brand and identify new investors in collaboration with IRBD through consistent and diligent relationship-driven marketing
Communicate opportunities for the development of new products / adjacencies, through regular dialogue with the institutional marketplace.
Identify opportunities to leverage Blackstone Senior Management with Tac Opps LPs or prospective investors and manage follow-up
Partner with Blackstone External Relations on Tactical Opportunities branding initiatives
Design marketing materials, update decks and keep marketing materials updated as appropriate
Qualifications Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and time management skills, the successful candidate must have:
Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience including 2-3 years of buy-side private market investing, ideally with a successful track record in a fundraising or marketing - time spent as a coverage banker an added benefit
Solid understanding of alternative investment business and products
Strong judgment, interpersonal and influencing skills
Superior communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to write effectively
Candidate should be energetic, self-motivated, and a team-oriented individual who thrives on challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - often under pressure to meet demanding deadlines
Strong work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to learn
Collaborative individual who will foster strong working relationships across the firm
