We are seeking an experienced professional skilled in email marketing automation and other direct marketing strategies. The Direct Marketing Manager will engage prospective students for the three business schools at Golden Gate University & work in collaboration with the Director of Admissions & Recruitment, Director of Marketing, Deans and Program Managers. This strategic role works closely with both the recruitment and marketing departments.

Basic Function and Scope of Job
The Direct Marketing Manager will help launch Salesforce Marketing Cloud as the new email automation platform. He/she will develop, manage and execute automated, data-driven, and segmented email marketing communications. In addition, the Direct Marketing Manager is responsible for direct mail campaigns & other related recruitment initiatives.
Utilize Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform to develop automated email communication for prospective students
Develop, write and deploy behavior- and event-triggered email communications that utilize dynamic content tied to Recruit CRM.
Work with graphic designer to design and produce email templates and direct mail pieces.
Analyze open email rates, click-through rates, and other performance metrics. Perform A/B testing of templates, subject lines, content, and other email components to identify improvements and optimize results.
Identify and rent third party, qualified email lists for lead generation. Develop and deploy customized, ad hoc email communications and track performance.
Manage and maintain email suppression lists.
Assist staff with planning, creating and executing direct mail campaigns in support of enrollment.
Administer and manage event calendar database system.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, business administration or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
5+ years’ experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, IBMMC, ), Direct Marketing, CRM, or Web Analytics related field
Conceptual understanding of data warehousing basics/principles and how to leverage data in driving decisions and action
Able to diagnose issues quickly, try new approaches; GRIT
Ability to develop and implement complex, multi-level project calendars and production schedules
Outstanding communication skills and ability to influence others internally and externally using verbal, print and electronic formats
Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading skills with expert attention to detail, often within tight deadlines.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and excellent follow-through on all projects.
