The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for contributing strategy and execution of effective marketing campaigns that position RAPS as the “go-to” for regulatory professionals worldwide. The marketing communications manager works with the marketing and brand management teams to support and promote RAPS’ organizational strategy. As part of a dynamic marketing team, the marketing communications manager is an independent worker who is focused on outcomes, and has strong organization and project management skills. The marketing communications manager prioritizes the needs of our customers and the organization in a quickly evolving environment.
The marketing communications manager works with analytics and reporting, and draws on critical thinking skills and experience, to make recommendations and execute marketing plans that resonate with our customer base. The position requires social media, emarketing and event marketing skills, plus experience working in automated marketing systems and CMS platforms
The marketing communications manager works to understand the environment in which customers operate, anticipates their needs and identifies ways to improve the customer experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage outreach across multiple marketing channels, including: email, direct mail, print advertising, online advertising, cost-per-click (CPC) advertising etc., and work with team members to leverage social media and public relations outreach
Work interdepartmentally on project teams to increase the effectiveness of marketing outreach by jointly evaluating market research data
Collaborate with operations, technology and content development staff
Develop and post social media; evaluate, report and make recommendations on analytics
Create content for RAPS.org that creatively communicates solutions and need for product; follow web writing best practices; optimize keywords for search engines
Cross-functionally collaborate to identify customer needs and opportunities
Work as part of a team to identify, manage and share content to customers
Manage external vendor relationships to maximize the exposure of RAPS to potential members and customers. These include printers, direct marketing providers, online marketing providers, list rental firms etc.
Manage marketing budgets
Help build and manage lead lists
Critically measure and report on campaign effectiveness to senior management and provide constructive recommendations for future directions
Experience and requirements:
BA/BS with 5-7 years of related marketing experience
Excellent copywriting, communications and proofreading skills
Pro-active, self-starter who identifies opportunities and can evaluate and present alternatives to challenges
manage projects, meet deadlines and multitask
work in a close-knit creative partnership with brand management team to generate workable concepts and ideas
work in a team environment and work collaboratively with other departments
oversee campaigns through the production stage to completion
analyze data and draw conclusions
