Job Summary: The University of Connecticut is seeking an experienced marketing copywriter to provide advanced level writing and editing for a wide range of advertising materials. The successful candidate will be expected to exercise originality, creativity and to regularly develop his/her own ideas within broad guidelines established by the supervisor. Work is varied and requires a sound understanding of subject and target audience and ability to conduct research to inform writing. Work will include writing for ad campaigns, websites, video and radio scripts, and printed materials including brochures, ads, and billboards.
Appointment Terms: This is a full-time (35 hrs/week) position; person will be located at the UConn Health campus in Farmington 4 days/week and at the UConn Storrs campus 1 day/week.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field; at least 5 years proven marketing/advertising writing experience; knowledge of business-to-consumer marketing; ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, and make sound judgments; excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare advertising, marketing, or writing; experience writing short-form advertising copywriting; proven ability to work both independently and with a team.
