The Manager, Product Marketing, will develop and implement marketing plans to position and promote ULI products. These products include reports and publications created by ULI’s content centers and members, as well as various forums and conferences. This person will be responsible for presenting our products/publications in ways that will increase content distribution, usage, and business practice adoption; drive member satisfaction and participation; and ultimately boost ULI’s impact. A creative and quantitative thinker is needed for this role. This person should be familiar with various product marketing techniques, including email campaigns and pricing strategies.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: • Understanding ULI’s strategy and products in order to provide marketing support. • Developing and implementing effective marketing strategies and plans (to include pricing, advertising, email promotion, and social media promotion). • Translating technical details of reports/publications into benefits for the user. • Following and analyzing market trends to position products. • Developing and implementing product launch campaigns. • Crafting compelling messages across marketing channels (landing pages, ad campaigns, email, print, social media, etc.). • Working with various teams (design, content, etc.) to implement strategies and promote products and events. • Testing marketing promotion and adjusting strategy to maximize impact. • Evaluate projects using relevant KPIs and feedback from members and prospective customers.
Specific duties include: o Manages marketing communications, including developing marketing plans; ensuring proper communication; determining key messaging and themes; and overseeing the development, production, and distribution of assets. o Develops targeted marketing plans for each project, including goals, strategies, programs and tactics, achievement metrics, and budget. o Develops and implements creative strategy for marketing tactics, including direct mail, email, social, advertising, blog, web, and trades. o Manages external agencies as appropriate such as digital ad agency, designers, printers, mail houses to produce brochures, postcards, emails, print ads, and web elements aligned with creative strategy. o Leverages internal assets and works in tandem with the Digital Marketing department to use social media vehicles. o Initiates, builds, and maximizes marketing partnerships with media and other third parties to reach new and relevant audiences. o Segments, tests, and reports on marketing data to better align initiatives. o Analyzes, reports, and uses metrics to evaluate and analyze strategies. o Works closely with internal strategists, as well as with external marketing agencies to accomplish marketing goals. o Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: • 5 to 7 years of experience required. • Proven experience as a product marketing manager or similar role. • Background in design and copywriting is a plus. • Experience in market analysis. • Experience in email marketing execution and automation. • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g., integrated marketing campaigns). • Working knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, WebTrends). • Excellent communication skills. • Keen eye for detail. • Creativity. • Analytical mind and strong quantitative skills.
EDUCATION: • BS/BA in marketing, communications, or similar field.
