This position will assist in the enhancement of the agency’s marketing, communication and public relations strategies, designing and publishing the newsletter, and other marketing materials. Position will also assist with special events and with the solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of individual, corporate and foundation donors.
Qualifications and Characteristics:
Education – Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably communications, marketing or related field. Fundraising experience a plus.
Technical – Communication skills, excellent written/verbal skills. Word processing and layout proficiency. Donor Perfect donor data base development and management. Social media familiarity and acumen.
Organizational Skills – Must be highly organized with an attention to detail.
Social Skills – Must be able to respond appropriately in varied situations; must be able to function well with minimal supervision.
Leadership Skills – Must demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, good judgment, and commitment to teamwork.
Experience working in a donor database preferred.
Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
Must have privately owned vehicle, valid driver’s license, good driving record, and liability insurance.

The mission of Safe Passage is to promote the right of all to have non-violent and abuse free relationships through advocacy, intervention and prevention in DeKalb County. The vision of Safe Passage is that all women, children and men live free of violence in their relationships, homes and communities. ?... A 24/7 Hotline answered by trained advocates through which we provide crisis intervention, information and referrals for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
? Safety and stability for women and their children fleeing violence in their homes in our Emergency Shelter which houses up to 25 women and children.
? Long-term transitional housing for women and children who are working on reaching goals such as education, housing, jobs, etc. and need more time and support to establish themselves safely in the community
? Supportive services including medical advocacy to victims when they come into an emergency room due to domestic or sexual assault and legal advocacy to assist them in obtaining orders of protection, supporting them in court proceedings and helping them to learn and understand their legal rights.
? Individual, group and family counseling and therapy services for all victims of domestic and sexual violence who live at Safe Passage or come to us from the community.
? A Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) that provides psycho-educational groups for men and women who are charged with a domestic battery.
? A complete range of prevention education programs in schools to children K-12, college students and presentations for any community groups to raise awareness of the causes and effects of domestic and sexual violence.
? Education to first responders such as police, medical providers, teachers, recreation workers, youth workers and others to increase their understanding of the causes, effects and dynamics of domestic and sexual assault and how to identify and best respond to victims.
