The Manager, Member & Product Marketing is responsible for developing and executing marketing efforts to increase membership, member value and improve member retention. Responsibilities include developing and executing plans to increase new memberships, non-dues revenue and support membership participation and engagement efforts. Support revenue goals for member products and programs in annual business plan. This position works with business units to identify the marketing opportunity and member need and then develop high impact, relevant marketing communication for various PRSM member segments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Planning – Executes PRSM marketing efforts to identify, engage and convert non-members to members; increase member value through marketing campaigns that raise member engagement and non-dues revenue plus improve retention of existing members.
Execution – Works closely with Director, Marketing and business unit leaders in developing marketing plans and branding strategies for membership generation and product launches. Writes creative briefs for campaigns that provide clear insight in order to create effective marketing pieces.
Product Launches - Spearheads new and revised product/program launches, and integrates them in overall marketing plan. To include an integrated marketing approach using print, email, social media, website, mobile technology and other marketing tactics appropriate for product and member segment.
Digital Media - Work closely with the Manager, Web Content on digital marketing efforts and use of digital tools (blogs, infographics, video, etc.) to convey messaging of products. Create copy for email communications and oversee all design and layout
Social Media – Initiates Social Media use as another tool for marketing and promotion.
Print Production - Coordinates all marketing material printing and mailings for membership and association products (white papers, books, brochures, etc.) for maximum savings and quality of products. Works with designers and printers, bids work, and signs off on final proofs before production.
Analytics- Uses analytics to define key metrics and successful measures for all projects and reports results to stakeholders quarterly. Monitors data integrity consistently and initiates improvements continually.
Budget Management – Will assist in monitoring marketing budgets and process invoices for approval.
Requirements & Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Marketing, Business Management or related course of study.
Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, preferably within a professional association.
Experience with direct response marketing preferred.
Excellent copywriting skills with proven results to effectively communicate relevant, engaging marketing messages to different audiences.
Basic graphic design skills required; more experience a plus
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
Experience that shows strategic, creative and analytical thinking.
Excellent proofing and editing of marketing communications, including feedback to graphic designers on layout and design.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines through the use of excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail a must.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with other units.
Strong, proactive approach and shows initiative in order to complete projects.
Excellent creative problem-solving abilities with a high degree of confidence in decision-making.
