Job Description
The Summer Internship Program that has been developed will assign students to one of our senior staff. All students will work on business projects suitable for a resume summary.

ARF Summer Interns are given a unique opportunity to work very closely with senior staff; something that is not possible in many organizations. Interns are really able to hone their project management and organizational skills through a wide variety of tasks.

The ARF is host to many events and interns are often able to attend meetings and events. Our events are packed with industry leaders, thus creating an excellent networking opportunity for our interns.

ARF staff will provide overviews of their areas and explain the role and context of student assignments. Questions and discussion will be encouraged. Lunchtime presentations will be held to introduce students to different business experiences among ARF staff.

The Summer Internship Program will be a 12 week program, starting on May 29th and concluding on August 24th. Spring Interns will be asked to work 20 hours/week and will be compensated at an hourly rate.

The role of the Business Development Intern will be to assist and support the Business Development team in various operations, communications, research, and (sometimes) strategic tasks, including, but not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities: • Developing business development materials and communications (ie. DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF, PSD, VCF, etc.) • Managing administration tasks such as scheduling duties, coordinating various events/meetings/appointments, managing various email inquiries and phone calls, coordinating various travel logistics, etc. • Sales & Business Development tasks such as researching prospects, gathering necessary information for projects and presentations, attending company meetings, inputting sales leads into CRM database, and helping to develop tactics that achieve company strategic sales goals including 100% client satisfaction. • Assisting with the coordination and planning of various events. • Other projects as assigned.

Requirements
Required Skills

Computer Applications: Office, Internet, Data entry required. Adobe a plus. • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong project management and organizational/multitasking skills • Solution driven, motivated and proactive • High attention to detail • Must be a team player and take initiative • Sense of humor • Interested in learning about (and possibly pursuing a career) in the Advertising or Marketing Industry • Marketing, Media or Advertising Communications student with an interest in Research is a plus. • Public Speaking/Presentation Skills • Multilingual a plus (Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, etc.)
