Job Description
The Human Resources Director is on the front line of servicing and interacting with our employees, performing both hands-on and strategic roles in providing human resources expertise in employee relations, coaching/development, conflict management, organizational development, and more. The HR Director is also instrumental in initiating and driving HR programs/initiatives within the organization, placing considerable focus on recruitment, retention and culture issues. The Director is a true HR Generalist and will proactively assess needs and implement tactical and strategic solutions in a changing environment.

The ideal Human Resources Director represents the Advertising Research Foundation in the most positive manner with prospective and current members, vendors and the industry and academic communities we serve. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of staff, ARF member “volunteers” (Board, Council, Committee) and uses operating practices of the department and the ARF; upholds the principal mission: to improve the practice of advertising, marketing and media research in pursuit of more effective marketing and advertising communications; and handles confidential information with tact and discretion.

Primary Responsibilities: • Recruiting – find and screen for all open positions • Understand the dynamics of the business and functions and drive human resource practices and processes that will create an effective and high performing organization. • Provide and establish initiatives to drive performance management and career development. • Employee relations/counseling • Employee Performance Reviews • Staff Development/Retention Initiatives - Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. • Employee terminations, resignations, exit interviews • Manage Benefits Plan (including 401K) • Manage Intern Program (recruiting, administration, program sponsors) • Advise on compensation, incentives, and reward programs. • Manage Staff: Human Resources Manager • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Requirements: • Excellent academic credentials, BA/BS min. • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience – strong recruiting and organizational development background a big plus. • Proven track record of building and leveraging good working relationships • Excellent Interpersonal, Managerial and Leadership Skills • Innovative, Trustworthy, Strong Presence • Excellent written and oral communications skills • An effective strategist and practitioner with a solid track record of successfully implementing HR programs and initiatives. • Ability to establish strong relationships with all levels of an organization. • Strong analytical and influential skills are essential. • Excellent Computer Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Proficiency
