Characteristics of the Class: Oversee key Norton Center functions related to marketing, development and contributed revenue strategies, objectives and tactics. Position reports directly to the Norton Center Executive Director. Position supervises additional employees and is integral part of Norton Center team.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for formulating, maintaining and preserving the organization’s brand identity and its relationship to Centre College.
Prepare, recommend, and execute marketing plans for specific products/services, series, special events, campaigns, program books, and overall organization.
Develop and execute sponsorships, partnerships and trade agreements with media and other promotional organizations.
Manage advertising needs (all forms of media) including in- and out-of-house production.
Supervise and coordinate public relations for all programs/events and enforce media relations and photography policies and procedures.
Oversee all aspects of Norton Center electronic property including website, social networks and other electronic media; coordinate efforts with Centre College.
Supervise development/execution of marketing research for Norton Center and its programs.
Develop and maintain plans to increase audience diversity and overall attendance.
Solicit, secure, and maintain relationships with advertisers for program book each season.
Ongoing Contributed Revenue
Execute and/or supervise all Norton Center fundraising activities, including, but not limited to: Annual giving; membership; endowments and planned giving; government, foundation, and corporate grant writing; capital campaigns and related activities; program/event sponsorships; and donor recognition and other special events and projects.
Coordinate scheduling of fundraising/contributed revenue efforts of Norton.
Cultivate and solicit potential and current donors via personal contact, community involvement, media contact and other appropriate fund raising tactics.
Work with Executive Director to establish and manage related budgets.
Work closely with box office and other Norton Center staff for successful programs and engagements.
Perform any special projects as directed by the Executive Director.
Be familiar with all Norton Center programs.
Represent the Norton Center in professional and community activities as deemed appropriate.
Create, review, and conduct performance appraisals of department staff and take appropriate disciplinary action when deemed necessary.
Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel from local and regional fundraising organizations; and media, advertising, marketing, and tourism agencies, corporations, and other communication sources.

Education and Experience
Masters preferred, Bachelors required in Business or related field.
Demonstrated experience in senior level marketing and fundraising positions preferred.
Experience working with performing arts organization preferred.
Event planning experience preferred.
Supervisory experience required.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, required.
Customer sales and donor relations skills required.
Detail oriented, organized; works well autonomously and in small groups required.
Strong editing and proofing skills required.
Comfortable engaging with existing and potential constituents.
Ability to develop and build relationships in Danville, Lexington, and Greater Bluegrass Region preferred.
Limited pushing, pulling, lifting. Lifting would not exceed 20 lbs.
