Reporting to the Executive Director, this part time position will play a key role in developing messages and identifying audiences that advances the vision and mission of the organization. We're looking for a creative thinking, problem solving, rock star writer, with fierce social media skills - A high energy and fast thinker, who knows how to engage, imagine and call people to action.
The Community House is a multi-faceted organization based in Hinsdale, serving the surrounding communities. We were founded in 1941 with a mission to strengthen and engage the community. And that's what we do, every day. The Marketing Coordinator will play a critical role in support of that mission.
We're seeking a candidate with strong communication skills, the ability to write well (from a quick tweet to a brochure for a program); help to mine our databases for the right audience for the right message; to help develop and then implement the sponsor agreements with our key strategic partners; some event support ('cause those are all hands on deck events) and a general expectation that you will help to make us smarter, cooler and more meaningfully engaged in the community.
The expectation is that the successful candidate will work on-site at The Community House 20 hours per week during business hours (and the occasional after hours event) in collaboration with the leadership team to address key marketing needs of all departments.
This position also serves as the brand police-graphic standards, points of engagement, how we work, where we engage, communication tools....all need to be on brand, (Badge not included.) If you have design skills, that would be great, but not required. This position will be the liaison with our printer/promotional products vendor(s), so this position will need to work with a designer to be sure our brand translates through to all collateral and all graphic standards are maintained.
Because this is not a benefits-eligible position (less than 1000 hours a year), we're super flexible about family time. There are key time periods when we'll need this person on site, but we are happy to balance that expectation with down time that lets you balance work and family. That's the beauty of a part time position. We'll work with you on a schedule that meets this goal.
Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism or other related field
Strong writing and communication skills. Seriously. Very strong communication skills
Experience working in marketing function with a multi-department workplace
Experience with integrated marketing including print, web, email and social media
Experience with production of print media
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Word Press, CRM software, all social media including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin
Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects to meet deadlines.
