The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the Head of School at our Academy located in Austinburg, OHand is responsible for all marketing and communication materials for the Academy, while delivering consistent messaging both internally and externally through all mediums including conversation, print, online and social media outlets.
Including, but not limited to:
To manage GRA’s communications and marketing strategies, including, but not limited to:
Advancing the brand and image of Grand River Academy
Collaborating with all departments regarding consistent messaging
Leading all departments in marketing & communications decisions, timelines and guidelines
Managing annual marketing plan and subsequent vendors
Identify emerging marketing strategies.
Collaborating with Head of School and Director of Admissions & Financial Aid to manage the marketing budget, including providing a monthly comparison of current standings to budget
Maintaining and/or updating all content on GRA website, including articles, events, pictures and videos
Generating reports as needed/requested (including monthly reports of the analytics of GRA’s marketing efforts), submitting to Head of School, Director of Admission & Financial Aid and Director of Advancement & Major Gifts
Attending professional development opportunities that further GRA’s marketing efforts
Actively seeking, and utilizing, trends in both domestic and international marketing or communication strategies
Act as GRA’s point of contact for all media and develop positive relationships with the news media
To design GRA’s marketing, advancement, admissions and other departmental materials, including, but not limited to:
Designing annual appeals, view books, summer programming materials, special event literature, brochures, fliers, capital campaign literature, etc.
Composing and sending press releases to local/regional/national media outlets on a regular basis
Composing social media outreach, website news, and school blog
Publishing regular e-blasts through Constant Contact
Coordinating, designing and publishing the GRA annual magazine/annual report
To manage allGRA’s social media and online outlets, including, but not limited to:
Managing GRA’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Constant Contact accounts, in addition to the website (as noted above)
Managing GRA’s Alumni Association Facebook and its coordination with the Academy’s Facebook account
Creating and scheduling content for all GRA’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts
Engaging on-campus for the collection of photos and GRA happenings
To assist the Director of Advancement & Major Gifts and Director of Admissions & Financial Aid as needed
To support the school and its leadership
To maintain confidentiality and database integrity of admissions applicants, donors, etc.
To perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Monday – Friday; 8am – 4:30pm
Attendance at all school events
Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in marketing, advertising, communications or related field
2 years of experience in a marketing and/or communications position
Experience with preparation of press releases, website management, and social media
Demonstrated success in the areas of fundraising, marketing or admissions is preferred
Experience in an independent school setting or non-profit is preferred
Willingness and desire to work with high school students, faculty and staff in a close-knit, residential community
Flexibility to attend occasional evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in content management systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Drive, and other computer skills, is required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and frequent deadlines
Ability to work easily with the GRA community, including faculty, students, fellow staff, Board of Trustee members, etc.
Ability to understand, interpret and articulate the Academy’s mission and programs to donors, and other Academy community members, in conversation, in writing and through online and social media outlets
Aptitude for providing an example and leadership in fundraising activities and school events
Capacity to direct an activity and provide the staffing and service needed
Valid Ohio driver’s license
Successful completion of background and drug screens
Requires weekend and evening work
