Founded in January 2012, SkyDeck Berkeley (http://skydeck.berkeley.edu) is a highly visible, complex, and expanding campus startup accelerator that spans over several units of UC Berkeley and in collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, QB3, UCSF, the City of Berkeley, the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce and the greater entrepreneurial and venture capital community of the Bay Area, including international innovation institutions. SkyDeck’s mission is to increase the UC brand and visibility of new startup ventures within a supportive and community-enriching framework of office and meeting space and programs.
The Marketing Assistant will support SkyDeck’s mission by providing Berkeley startups with access to the best tools and resources to launch and grow their businesses.
Social Media: •Maintains SkyDeck social medial channels (Twitter, FaceBook, Linkedin) •Promotes events on social media
SkyDeck Marketing: •Assists with the design and construct of all SkyDeck promotional materials (flyers, programs, slide decks, info-graphics, PDFs) •Assists with photo and video preparation for materials, website, and portal •Assists with website development and updates •Maintains mailing list
Publications/Events/Marketing Support •Assists with the production of marketing collateral for SkyDeck •Assists with the publication of bi-monthly newsletter •A/V set up/recordings for all events and workshops•Proficiency in PowerPoint, InDesign, and Wordpress •Ability to work within and contribute to a team environment •Highly organized and with good judgment, decision-making, problem-solving skills and attention to detail •Strong design and writing skills
