The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Marketing team is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager who shares our passion for digital media and is skilled in online media and marketing and has proven success in marketing sales support and ideation as well as strong experience in communication and PR support. The IAB empowers the media and marketing industries to thrive in the digital economy. We field critical research on interactive advertising, while also educating brands, agencies, and the wider business community on the importance of digital marketing.
The Senior Marketing Manager will plan and execute the marketing and communication strategy for various IAB industry initiatives including the launch or update of standards / guidelines, and the release of white papers or best practices. (S)he will work with business experts, influencers, and IAB Committees & Councils to create and execute relevant and impactful strategies and campaigns using all communication and marketing channels – including, but not limited to PR coordination through blog posts / press release / influencers, social media strategy, and other marketing and media campaigns to create buzz and reach the marketing goals / KPIs for each initiative.
Additionally, the Senior Marketing Manager will help create packages and sponsorship ideas in conjunction with our Investment and Relationship team (Membership), preparing custom offerings for strategic partners/members, and working with business leaders / experts in the various IAB teams.
The ideal candidate must have solid marketing and PR experience in the interactive space, with 5+ years in digital advertising/marketing. He or she must be solid in digital, email marketing, mobile, social, and video channels and be eager to learn new technologies and tools.
In this role, you will:
Prepare sponsorship packages and provide marketing sales support for INR (e.g. one-sheets, presentations, and other marketing collaterals)
Ideate unique partnerships and customize presentation materials for key IAB accounts
Develop the communication tools for the Board of Directors
Annual and quarterly President’s reports
Board meeting preparation
Marketing Campaign Management:
Provide marketing strategy and support for:
Video Center of Excellence / NewFronts
IAB Tech Lab / International
IAB Education Foundation / iDiverse
Create and develop marketing plans, define campaign schedules and ensure timely implementation of digital and offline activity
Manage marketing budgets and produce campaign performance reports, providing key insights and optimization recommendations that prove ROI with data.
Test new potential channels and strategies to support the marketing plan and event growth
Build contact databases through various channels
PR and Communications:
PR strategy / support and communication plans
Supporting the PR Manager on day to day administration and logistics while working alongside the Marketing team to determine priorities to ensure all tasks are completely quickly and efficiently
Monitors, organizes, and reports on IAB media mentions
Supports the PR initiatives by managing article postings on the website as well as maintaining talking points library, media lists, and other shared files
Tracks and promotes IAB speaker engagements
Audience development and social media
Other duties and industry initiatives as assigned
Bachelor’s’ degree or higher
5-7 years of relevant experience
Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
Creative sensitivity and sense of urgency / timeliness
Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing plans that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example
Product marketing including product launch management, presentations, sales tools, and competitive analysis
Demonstrated ability to manage often outsourced marketing activities – ability to gather and manage all the needed resources for each project to meet objectives and deadlines
Demonstrated a deep understanding of targeted email marketing and customer relationship management (CRM)
Proficiency in marketing analytics and the ability to report on them – Developing and tracking metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities
Excellent written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically PowerPoint and Word and tactful communication with members and partner organizations
Self-starter, proactive, able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, have the ability to drive projects to completion while managing multiple constituents and be prepared to roll up their sleeves
Subject expertise in specific digital platforms (client development, sponsorship packaging, social media, digital video, lead generation, programmatic, search marketing, technological expertise, etc.) are all pluses
