The Assistant Athletic Director – Marketing and Creative Media reports to the Associate Athletics Director for External Relations. This position will be a digital storyteller to enhance and grow the brand of Arkansas State Athletics and promote the success of our programs through social media, marketing, advertising and digital engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities: • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Managing and overseeing the Arkansas State Athletics Social Media channels. •Design video and graphics for use on social media, the athletics website, advertising and more. Lead the full time and part time staff to develop new and creative ways to engage the fan base. •Recruit and train student designers to assist in production of these items. •Working closely with ESPN and oversee and develop a student intern program with Department of Media Production and Broadcasting. •Assisting with the design of video board content for consistent branding and fan engagement. •Evaluating the digital efforts for department social media and advertising to engage the fan base and create awareness of and encourage attendance at athletics events. •Assisting with video production including intro videos, athletic and special events, coaches’ shows and more. General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Knowledge of NCAA and Sun Belt Conference regulations specifically as they apply to institutional policies and procedures. Ability to supervise professional and clerical workers. Proficiency in written and oral communication.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management or a related field from an accredited university or college . Two (2) years’ experience in collegiate Athletics Marketing or Professional Sports Marketing. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Position will require travel as necessary for events or functions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required. Excellent oral, written communication and organizational skills; experience with social media marketing is required.
Other: The Assistant Athletic Director – Marketing and Creative Media has daily contact with subordinate staff, athletics personnel, the business community, radio/TV personnel, corporate sponsors, donors, as well as frequent contact with institutional administrative personnel. Travel to games, conferences and professional development sessions are required.
