Tower Hill School seeks a marketing specialist to support school-wide marketing and communications initiatives as part of a cohesive team. This position incorporates multiple tools — digital advertising, social media, graphic design, video, photography, copywriting — in an integrated marketing communications approach, focusing on prospective students and families as the primary audience.
A top-ranked independent school that serves preschool through 12th Grade, Tower Hill’s mission is to prepare students from diverse backgrounds for full and creative engagement with a dynamic world. The Communications Office works closely with Admission, Advancement and the head of school on various collaborative projects, as well as with faculty and administrators throughout the school.
In partnership with the director of communications and marketing, the marketing specialist will highlight school programs, activities and accomplishments in alignment with institutional and departmental strategic goals. This creative, motivated individual will promote the exceptional education experienced by Tower Hill students, capturing the excitement and engagement generated in the classroom by our excellent faculty.
Position responsibilities include:
Develop marketing materials for use in the fall Admission season
Liaise with Admission team and explore new markets for outreach
Use data to inform marketing decisions
Write and edit content for bi-monthly e-newsletters to prospective families
Create and update web pages using Blackbaud K-12 content management system
Contribute to content posted on social media accounts
Serve as a brand ambassador for the school brand and editorial style guidelines
Support the director of communications and marketing in advertising, marketing and other projects as needed
Participate in graphic design, photography, video, web and social media projects
Participate in professional development activities; follow trends, issues and best practices in marcom and independent schools
Misc. duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, graphic design or similar field
At least two years of relevant job experience preferred, including internships
Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Positive, outcome-oriented attitude with eagerness to learn, generate ideas, accept and incorporate feedback, problem solve, try new approaches and grow as a professional
Initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Availability to attend limited evening and weekend events, e.g. Homecoming, Graduation and concerts
Experience in web design, graphic design, video production, animation, photography, social media and/or digital marketing is a plus; mentorship in these areas can be provided as needed
Familiarity of writing conventions for magazine, web and correspondence; flexibility to adapt style to intended purpose
