The Clinical and Translational Science One Health Alliance (COHA) is comprised of veterinary schools partnered with medical and other colleagues through a National Institutes of Health Clinical Translational Science Award (CTSA). COHA's mission is to advance the understanding of diseases shared by humans and animals. The alliance leverages the expertise of physicians, research scientists, veterinarians, and other professionals to find solutions for medical problems and to address the well-being of humans, animals, and the environment. This approach will capitalize on One Health opportunities that accelerate translational research.
In July, 2017, the project, ‘Improving translational resources – enhancing visibility and inter-college cooperation for increased biospecimen use from veterinary academic biobanks, wasselected for a COHA pilot award. This award provides for the consortium of four veterinary colleges (Colorado State, Cornell, UC Davis, and Texas A&M) to ‘develop and implement a marketing strategic plan to define the landscape and enhance the visibility of available biospecimen resources.’ This will mark Phase I of a visibility initiative, that if successful will be expanded to remaining biobanks at a later date (TBD).
Funding is available beginning 10/15/2017, until the project's completion on 10/14/2018 to contract with a marketing specialist to achieve this objective.
The Marketing Specialist will report directly to the Assistant Dean of Marketing & Communications and the Director of the Biobank, and will be primarily responsible for increasing visibility of the network of biospecimen resources via:
Development of a strategic marketing plan
Launch of a webpage/web presence
Launch of an email marketing/relationship plan, and other marketing tactics as identified
Implementation of marketing research pre/post surveys to gauge impact of the marketing plan

Experience with the Drupal web platform, user experience, and web page development
Experience with graphic design programs such as: Adobe Creative Suite programs, particularly, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
Experience with email marketing platforms, such as Constant Contact, Mail Chimp
Experience in developing, launching and evaluating results of marketing surveys
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Experience working in an academic environment.
