The University of Hartford Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is accepting applications for a Marketing and Sales Assistant for the 2017-2018 year. The Marketing and Sales Assistant will receive excellent hands-on experience with a Division I athletics department, and will learn transferable skills that will help advance their careers. This is a 10-month position with an anticipated start date in the beginning of August. This position is not eligible for benefits through the University of Hartford.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop and execute marketing and sales efforts for 17 NCAA Division I varsity sports.
Coordinate game day promotions for Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, Men’s Lacrosse, and Baseball. Will assist with the planning and preparation of marketing and sales efforts surrounding these sports.
Assist with marketing and sales for Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball events.
Lead the execution of on-field/on-court promotions; create production time lines and public address scripts; organize in-venue music and timeout coordination with band, cheer and dance; as well as activation of sponsorships.
Help to develop an outreach plan to increase student involvement, including but not limited to: building relationships with student leaders, expanding student involvement and excitement around athletic events as well as increasing and improving the overall student experience.
Lead the recruiting, managing and supervision of all students involved in the Hartford Athletics internship program on a day-to-day basis, including game day and office duties.
Other relevant duties to the Hartford department of athletics as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in sport administration, business, marketing, communications (or a related field).
Demonstrated working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Working knowledge of social media platforms including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and SnapChat.
Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a time sensitive, team-oriented environment.
Initiative, dedication, and a strong work ethic.
Flexibility to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends & holidays.
General knowledge of NCAA and America East rules and regulations.
