Ross School of Business and the School of Environment & Sustainability (SEAS) at the University of Michigan. The institute’s mission is to create a sustainable world through the power of business. The institute was founded in 1996 as a dual-degree teaching program in which participating students study between the two schools and graduate with both the MBA and MS degrees.
Since then, Erb has expanded its work into a full-fledged institute covering research, teaching, and engagement in both social and environmental sustainability. The institute currently has three chaired professors, two postdoc fellows, an administrative staff of five, and over 400 dual-degree alumni in 17 countries. Erb’s many stakeholders share a deep commitment to the institute’s mission, and the Office Coordinator will be key to facilitating administration and communication among the various groups.
The Erb Institute’s work environment is fast-paced, adaptive, and team-oriented. Our Strategic Plan lays out a strategy, goals, and objectives for the institute during the 2015-20 period, and the accompanying Thought Leadership Agenda sets four priority areas for the institute’s thought leadership in support of the institute’s research platform for the five-year strategy.
